At the time of uprooting the rice seedlings for transplanting the Bodo follow some rites. When the seedlings become matured the female elderly member of the family offers a pair of areca nuts and bettle leaves (goi jora-pathwi jora) to the Mainao or Goddess Lakshmi and then starts the uprooting process.
