ना गाग्रोमनाय (Na gwgwrmnai)

Description:

The Bodos are known to be close-knit and gregarious in what they do. Fishing operations are carried out on certain prearranged dates, the women of the village or sometimes accompanied by a male or a group of villages will fish a certain stream or several streams for a distance extending over several miles. The fishing implements used are very simple in character, and are commonly prepared from materials found in almost every village. Fishing nets are rarely employed as the water in these streams in the cold weather (fishing season) is very shallow rarely exceeding two or three feet in depth sometimes they use their hands to catch the fish.
