'kharnai' means pond. Every Dimasa household has a pond in their villages in the Barak Valley, which is used for domestic purposes, and also for beautification with lotus flowers.
The name of the tool is ‘Rimin’ which is a long heavy wooden tool with a round end usually used as a pestle while grinding and crushing food items into powder in a Shamtho. The total height of Rimin is usually 10 to 11 feet and weighs more than shamtho.
This image consists of three tools which are Thuri, Thakri and Khunthon. 'Khunthon' (Endi or Eri silk yarn ball) is produced by the use of 'Thakri and Thuri' i.e., by spinning and reeling out the silk thread.
