The shelter where domesticated birds are kept is called Dao gogra. The main purpose of the Dao gogra is to keep the hens, cock, goose and ducks safe and secure. Brooding spaces are also created inside the Dao gogra for the laying eggs. The Dao gogra is built with proper air ventilation and the floors are always kept dry. Ash, husk are spread sparsely in the ground to maintain the dry moisture of the floor. The Dao gogra is kept dry and chicken roost made from tree branches or bamboo is set up for the chickens to prevent them from diseases and illness. Generally, the Dao gogra is built in the south-west corner of the household, where it receives proper sun rays.
