It is an agricultural ceremony where mainao or lokhi is brought from the paddy field to the house. When the paddy becomes ripe and suitable for reaping the guardian (generally the female guardian) of the family brings a small quantity of a reaped paddy with a sickle early in the morning preferably before sunrise and after sprinkling holy water on it the small bundle of paddy is kept inside the Bakhri (granary)
