Jaliputli Haba, wedding of fake idols, is one of the ancient worship practices of the Bodos. It is celebrated in summer (May/June) to invoke the rain God for sufficient rain and good crops. It is still celebrated in Jarkona village under Kamrup district.

Jaliputli Haba or wedding of fake idols is still celebrated in parts of Kamrup-rural. The main purpose of this worship practice is to invoke the rain God for sufficient rains and good crops. Since Bodos are mostly agrarians sufficient rain water is must for growing crops and for sustenance. This festival is believed to be essential for the purpose. Some people believe that a devotee's wishes are also fulfilled when s/he prays earnestly in front of the idols. The entire village folk gathers in one of the family's house for the celebration and it lasts for two days.
