Shibarai Madaikho (Lodi village)
This is a short interview video of Ramendro Barman Phonglo on Shibarai madaikho (Shiv temple) of Lodi village, taken by Monali Longmailai. The interview is based on the history of Shibarai Madaikho (Shiv Mandir) which was established in the year 2005 by Anuda Dibragedhe. Shibarai is one of the supreme god of Dimasa people, everything germinates from him and again retreats to him. The temple has no priest yet, the villagers worship and light candles on every Monday, sometime they also offer fruits and clothes to the deity. The present temple was built by the people of Lodi village who resettled at Lodi village after the Dimasa-Hmar ethnic clash.

Ramendro: My name is Ramendro Barman Phonglo and we are living here since a long time. This temple exist here since 2005 and was first worshipped by Anuda Dibragedhe but after the clash he don't live here anymore and we also dont live here permanently. It's just me who live here now and my family lives in Joypur Shivasthan village. At present he don't come here anymore but we all came back and serve and worship this god and also have built this small temple by the money which we have collected among us, It was in the year 2005 when this god was worshipped for the first time.
Monali: Shibarai madai ?
Monali: Shibarai god?
Ramendro: Om Shibarai madai.
Ramendro: Yes ! Shibarai god.
Ramendro: Jing bo suwaphalangdu arr edhenung madai suwaba thikala jing bo gicha kushu yaoblai maiphalangdu, dangma jimani haba habo, dao-mih khrangma ni haba ha bo jing bukebo suwalabase.
Ramendro: We are also worshipping and because of that the god is also giving us some fruit, whether is for living or rearing animals we worship this god.
Monali: Odehe Pujari, erahani Hoja la ?
Monali: What about the priest for this ?
Ramendro: Pijari de erahade, pujari ni hisabe graode jing shoshi ke rimya arr graode khrib bo shimabri bashain thikaning Thaophari shoaphaildu, ang bo shaophaidu herebna ning hereba shlaisho graode bakhalba la jimu gainmu labdada bo suwaphaidu bakhalb hala thaophari mamang shaophaidu thikabo pujari hisab hala eraha shoshi bo giri graode.
Ramendro: There is no priest here and we have also not appointed anyone as a priest here. On every Monday, everyone in rotation come and light candles here even I light it too, Sometime we come and worship with fruits, clothes and sometimes with only candles but at present we have not appointed anyone as priest here.
