Shogho Raja ni Kharmin

The full line to line translation of Dimasa short folk story of Shoko Raja, narrated by Nrityojoy Hojai of Kumacherra village (Cachar).  

Gadah ha haphai mashi ha shokho raja dongbanai. 

Once upon a time there was a place where Shoko Raja use to lie

Bo shoko raja grasha mashi jang graijik mashi kai hamning digderi klairene. Shamlining phaidada thipaire ne Ju-gap gicha riha shang, Mogon - doshi rihashang thidada shainphaire ne.

The shoko raja troubled an old man and women a lot. Evevry day when it become dark he come to them and ask for Ju-gap (Rice pulp) and a piece of meat.

Odeh grajik thihare nai daoglo glao la ning jima thide, odeh klaihi riharai nai. Odeh shainshiba khali bushi kha laoshophuyadada grasha thamshi baigoka nai.

the women also offers the meat by saying " ne daglao glao la ning jima thide" but one day they got fed with him and the old man got angry on Shoko raja 

Ebu kai dini de eden la nalai-nalai barha  phang Ju-gap jsng mogong daily la baraha rishophumako ebuke de ang badaima jaka, yao shugu jama jaka. 

From where are we going to offer Rice-pulp and meat to him eeryday, i am going to beat him now.

Grajik, Grajik ning ebu khlai mashi grao thi jehatai ang buke gidingma, dainma jaka thihi thikanae, odeh grajik thikane " din de ani basha bo giri bashai bo giri, ang bo limba ni maophuya ning Ju-gap jang mogong jima thide yao glao phlaola shogo rajama, ang erha nising rihanang." 

Old lady - old lady say him something so that i can get a chance to touch and kill him, the old lady said " today my son and my husband is not there and i am also sick so i can't moe, if you want to eat rice-pulp and meat then bring your hand forward i will gie it to you from here."

" thidada warning rilangkhane.

Therefore Shogo raja also put his hand through a conrer of the wall and at that moment the old man cut off his hands, from there the shogo raja started taunting- " you said husband is not there but you husband is there, you said your son is not there but your son is there, ( yao mai yao), meet at the rier (yao mai yao), meet at the forest (yao mai yao). " in this way the shogo raja gae waarning to them.

Ode shanshibakhali bush group jang grajik rap butu group jang bon danlaimane thangbaha bo jondada dongkhane, shogo raja ni ha shaogari gamayaba magic power dong bo bon khatai kaning dainkhuhadu ne nujaoyahi, ebu gajik ni lugu la khrib bo bon khatai khatai hi noha phaithar laka ne noha phailaimane shlailaika ne.

One day the Shogo raja waited for a group of old ladies who went to cut the woods in a forest. Shogo raja has the power to become inisible, so he has cut the rope of the woods which were tied. The friends of that old lady were ready to return home with their woods.

Grajik bo lajidada thikane - " Hai lugurao nishi  thangru, ang bo khere khere thangnang," danang la lugurao thanglaba jang ning Shogorajama bu grajik k jikhlakane odeh buni bugur kai buni bon khatai orah ning  galangkhane. 

The old lady told with shyness - " Hey friends go ahead, I will come  slowly later. " just after friends left the Shogo raja came and ate the old lady and left the skin of her on the same place."

Grasha la phaidaoyabni buni lugurao kai shingkhane ani garjik la nabani phaiyaba bu la nishi jang ning thangba, bode bon khataiphuyabani  bude khere khere phainang thihi dongba ode jingkhe thangdamane shanibani jingla phailaka.  

The old man asked to the friends of his lady as she was not returned home yet, why the old lady has not come back yet ? she had gone with you all. The friends of that old lady replied she was not able to tie her woods altogether that's why she asked us to go ahead. 

Odehe grasha la shmaima thangkha thanbala roju ha khamdada bugur thuludada bonkhatai ha bugur thuludada dengyaba kaise grasha la baokha grajik la nuka noha phaima shlebanise erha khamhi dongladu, grasha la thangdada bo grajik kai jikphaika ne danang de grasha ni yashku bo gaokha ne. 

The old man went in search of his old lady then he thought the dead skin of the old lady as alie, see the lady is lazy to go home that's why she is lying here like this. The old man kicked the lying skin of old lady but he got his leg hurt. 

Naibala bo grajik nin niya grajik ni bugur sening thila noh phaidada shogoraja jang dainlaima nai plan klaikhane noha nishing thangdada ning shogo raja kai dainma thiho grasha baokhane, odeh bo rikhlailangkhane shishong hundada shogo raja jang dainlaima ashba jathing thidada.

After looking carefully, the old man noticed that it was just the skin of her dead wife, he came back home and made a plan to kill the shogo raja, Therefore, the old man sharpened his sword and left to kill the Shogo raja. 

Thangbala grasha kai lama ha nuphalangkhane poila nubala beraiship thikane oi garasha ning baraha thangma, shogo raja kai dainmane thangma, ang bo thangma phai-phai thikane, odening daoadi bo thikane oi grasha barha thangma, shogo raja jang dadinlaiamne, ang bo thangma phai-phai thiakne, odeh Najen  bo thikane odening khido bo thikane, ode mishi raigonma bo thkane grasha jang shogo raja jang daainmane thangphamane. 

While the old man was on his way to kill the shogo raja he met many people out of them the first was the Beraiship who asked the old man about where was he going, The old man said i am going to fight with shogo raja, then the beraiship said to old man that he want to come along with him, the old man agreed and took the beraiship with him, later the old man met egg and asked the same question, the old man told to him also that he is going to kill the Shogo raja, The egg asked the old man to take him too along with him, after while he met khido and the lion the old man took all of them with him for killing the Shogo raja.
