Kherkha is a basket made with bamboo. The bamboo is split into thin sticks and beautifully knotted to form a circular circumference basket with average diameter of 60-70 cm and height of 45 cm. The main purpose of the Kherkha is to store paddy grain or to take out rice from bakhri, duli and also to store many household items. To store the rice, the Kherkha is plastered with clay mixed with cow dung and during winnowing, pouding of paddy grain the rice is collected and stored in the Kherkha. It is also used to bring Mai agw from the paddy field. A newly made unused Kherkha is also utilised as a holy plate to hold the sijou plant wrapped with white clothes to  bring it to a household to plant in the Bathou altar.
