Baimaijai
Baimaijai is a traditional folk dance of the Dimasa. The dance is performed by the young girls or women with plate and they performed the dance with two plates in both hands. In the past, winnowing was used but the present days women uses plate to dance with.
Baimaijai is a traditional folk dance of Dimasa. Bai in Dimasa means 'dance' and maijai means 'winnowing'. In the past, during the reign of Dimasa kingdom, the king had come out victorious in the war and offered victory at the palace through delight. So the women folk of the kingdom or Dimasa in delight used the winnowing and started to dance. This is how the tradition of this folk dance was started. And this tradition was started in Dijuwahaphai. Since then the dance has gained popularity and a part of Dimasa culture and tradition.
